Back to Cali โ˜€๏ธ

Finding inspiration in the day to day grind can be challenging.
Then I go outside and I am reminded of what a beautiful planet we live on. Backyards vibes are pretty sweet. All kinds rad trees and plants. Succulents are such a trip. And Incredibly brilliant. They can survive, in just about any and all conditions. If you break them off, and replant then, you don’t kill them- they are almost like a Voulenteer for more & more life ๐Ÿ™‚ very cool.

I sit and watch the bees enjoy the nectar of the blooming trees, hear the birds and feel the wind. It’s October and I’m writing in a bikini, in a hammock and the waves are just a bike ride away- So I suppose you can say it’s a bit of a paradise.

It’s easy to get caught up in a desire for “perfection” when sometimes you have to take a step aside and realize that this IS perfection- the perfect day is happening to you right now. It’s all a mater of being present, having a positive mental attitude, and experiencing the joy within the reality of whenever you are at—-
Blah blah blah.
What am I trying to say?
Well 2 things specifically.

The adventure is in your mind. The more time I spend at “home”, in San Diego, the more I tap into my yoga practice and the more I am reminded of “as you think so you become.”

The mind is a powerful tool to create and manifest any and all things we desire. And that everything we are all “searching” for resides inside of us:)

So as life happens we have to remember- everything is temporary- it’s always changing. No matter what phase of life you are experiencing you have to stay grateful- wether you are wandering through tropical jungles and surfing warm epic waves or navigating the concrete jungle, traffic lights, and censorry overload of a high pulsed society of an industrialized nation- this too an adventure. There’s always a lesson to be learned and with the abundance of our lives there are always a millions reason to stay stoked and keep smiling.

The second thing if was trying to get at is importance of remembering that everything is a cycle- and within this cycle all the attributes of nature are always present. In yogic philosophy these attributes are called the gunas. I refer to the guanas to help me stay calm, content and at peace within the center when ever I feel the extremes of nature pulling me in every direction.
So what about Gunas you ask?
It’s pretty simple really- it’s a great tool or reference to use to stay in balance (or at least to be mindful of if we feel our lives being affected by super positive or negative energy or as we encounter times of happiness and sadness). My favorite example is this cycle is the growth of a seed. All seeds (even us a humans) starts in tamas- inertia, stillness, little to none movement or activity is present as the seed planted is in the ground, from here the seed begins to grow- and rajas happens- imagine all the force and activity that is need to be present for a seed to break out of its shell, sprout out of the ground and begin to become a plant. This is where the growth is happening and from human standpoint, this phase may seem overwhelming or consuming or exciting and uncertain. Ah- but what happens next is nothing short of magic. From here sattva occurs. Balance. The flower or tree is in perfect bloom- the fruit is ripe- and any individual looking at this plant would think its a magically beautiful representation of perfection. However, at this point – we must remember what a journey the plant went through to achieve such brilliance, and remember where it is going. The tree then drops its fruit, the flowers die- the soil is replenished and the cycle begins again.

In my life i just returned from the dreamland of tropic jungles and great waves- it was “perfection” however I was living reality that was not sustainable and now back Cali I am realizing (only 4 months later, yes, sometimes I’m slow to get on the bus) that is my time to sow the garden again. To get rooted, grounded, connected- and manifest and create new journeys and adventures. This part of the cycle might not be “glamorous” but we are only as solid as our foundation, only as strong as our roots and so I am finding the joy of this phase of my life because from here all things grow stronger. Also remembering that within this phase there is so much delightful magic that is present and to be grateful for abundance and lessons here and now.

So, these Gunas important to remember because within our entire macro cycle of life this micro cycle is spinning, daily – weekly- monthly- yearly. We must be patient and gentle with ourselves. It’s not necessary to have all the answers. We have to remember we are a part of nature and it’s imperative to trust and surrender to the forces around us. Otherwise we cause avoidable suffering to ourselves and others. The sun will set and rise. The tides will rise and fall and In the end everything is going to be okay:) if it’s not okay. It’s not the end…
These are just a few of the many gems of wisdom I have learned from the yoga tradition that I am oh so happy to share with you.

With all my salty and sunkissed love
Namaste

Mermaid treasures and all this magic โœจ
Feeling A- a little bit sick๐Ÿค’
But B- mostly just stoked.
To be a surfer, even an average one at that, is a beautiful life to live. I can’t speak for everyone who surfs- but when fresh fish and the quest for waves are the two most basic pre-req’s to keep me smiling and moving forward- life is good.
Simple- but full of the most magic, in the most minimal of things…
The ocean never fails to satisfy and you know that adventure is always a breath away.
I may never have a million dollars in my bank account- but I have lifetimes of stories, of connections, of memories not all the money in the world could buy. All the inspiration I continue to find in the different facets of life is humbling and mind blowing at the same time. โœจ๐ŸŒˆ
The life on the gypsy trail continues to provide the most abundance ๐Ÿ™‚ I spent a the day alone yesterday. The only guest at these rad surfing/ glamping bungalows- (www.tapasandsurf.com) and the day was pure sweetness…..

Beachside ranchitos- sal y limรณn peanuts, toรฑa and some good reads to pass the day while I wait for the tide and winds to change. And About sal y limรณn?….. put-it- on…everything!
and make life taste better:)
carrots, cucumbers, guac. Sure ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜‹
and about my reading materials?

–proper literature when traveling is a must- been digging into “Barbarian Days- a Surfing Life” by William Finnegan. A fabulous memoir/ autobiography perfect for any surfing or wandering soul who likes to travel and discover the secrets of the planet and the secrets of man kind—

when that became “boring” as if sitting by sea can ever really be called that… I decided to wander. Around the point to the south- on to rocks and reefs filled with crabs and critters surrounded by the most delightful secluded mermaid cove- millions of shells of every color- so vibrant- neon pink and purples- pearl luminescent mini treasures – creating the sand- heaven.

IMG_0717

At this point a sunset glass off surf session would have been epic, but the day called for dinner and what would be the most fantastic daily offering- a sunset on land ๐Ÿ™‚
I ordered a cocktail. Because how can you not when flor de caรฑa is like $2.30…The affordability of Nica compared to Costa is pretty wild.
And then, I ordered some grub.
Two perfect sized tapas plates for my sweet little mermaid self. Fresh local ceviche, and camarรณn a pil pil (shrimp in a spicy garlic sauce). Holy mouth orgasams- or- I was just really hungry. Either way- the meal was delucious. They have roof top lounge area gently tucked among the almond trees, with a beach view and waves in the background. Of course to my delight Mother Earth offered a divine show of the setting sun free of charge. There was fire in the sky glowing every color or love….

I’ve got a slightly confused and broken heart on the mend. (Buuuuut. Haha. what else is new- I am so open, vulnerable, full of love that I experience the lows not as often but as intensely as the highs)… none the less, like a kitten, I always land on my feet- and I learn and accept the lesson. Everything that happens in life -good and “bad” -is an opportunity to be better, stronger, wiser and more full of love for it- I refuse to let life harden me, so when anger, or hate or resentment, are not options, it seems that love always wins…

Anyways. This day of solitude, spent with my one true love- myself – and the sea and all this nature was exactly what my mermaid soul needed to remember that everything we seek out there, is in here. And by here, I mean ourselves. I’m at point in life where I love my own company as much as that of anybody else and sometimes even more.. and I feel so beyond grateful to arrived at this point. Sometimes I’m lonely, but I’m human—and that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy being alone, It’s just better to be alone than in bad company.

So after dinner, at like 7:30, I cruise to bed… yep, although I do like to party, the regular routine of nights that become mornings for the most part, are a thing of the past. I lay in my tent/cabin bungalow, listen to the sounds, the bugs and the waves and some R&B from the 90’s- Thanks Spotify ๐Ÿ˜œ- and then wind it all down and drift off to dreamland with the soothing, hypnotizing sounds of Ali Farka Tourรฉ (yes- you need these amazing vibrations in your life— look up these incredible musicians).

After some wild dreams, and sassy roosters – morning is upon me.
And you know what that means….
Surfing Time! ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ
I don’t feel amazing, like I mentioned, but I’m here, and there are waves, so I surf:) it’s never a bad idea. I caught a few fun ones. And then the rain started. Ah, sweet droplets of nectar- the source- Liquid love falling from the sky- then some thunder thunder, cool:) but then. lightening struck a little too close and I was out of there!! The wave here is called nahualapa- and it’s got tough competition with the boom and other firing breaks near by, but, fun enough for a few hours on this mystic morning in Norhtern Nicaragua. So I write this to you over coffee, pancakes and fruit.. and pancakes!?!? Oh man:) ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿ˜got me daydreaming about chocolate chips and peanut butter rolled up into like magic breakfast taquitos of love. Hahaha: and I’m not even stoned. I don’t miss much about home- obviously my tribe of beings who make my heart beat- but what I’d do for bottles of wine and some good pure dark chocolate— see you in June Cali, who wants to go on a date…..๐Ÿท๐Ÿซ

Anyways. Who knows where today will take me, but this moment, is a grateful one- and for all the average pop, bachata music that has been played here over the past 24 hours of course bob Marley just came on:)
โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›
and with that…

Be kind to others, and yourself. Your blessing are more abundant, and all us creatures here on this planet are way more alike, than you may want to recognize.
Be positive. Stay humble-
Life truly is a precious gift.
From my gypsy mermaid heart to you

Mermaids and dolphins ๐Ÿฌโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’™

Mermaids and dolphins.๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿš๐Ÿš๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Gratitude and Abundance.

๐Ÿ™‚

Pay attention to the words you use and the thoughts you think, these are things that dictate the happiness and love in your life and energy that exude. These are things you have control over. Do you choose to react when something doesnโ€™t go your way? Or perhaps you may want to seek out tools that allow you to pause, and respond instead?

One of my favorite sayings, is…

โ€œLet goโ€ฆOr be draggedโ€

A beautiful simple truth. Remiding us to go with the flow, be easy and trust that things always work out the ways they should- even if we can’t see this at the time.

As I move about on this Gypsy trail I find it very hard to stay inspired when confined to the normalcy of routineโ€ฆ

Its quite suffocating actually-

Crazy right?๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜›

But, to each his own.

We all have different talents and bring different gifts to this world, so the point is to find what makes your heart sing and do nothing but that. For me, organized chaos, as some call it, the unknown, the unregulated, forever in motion, yet still, and free to roam is the space I thrive

The more time I spend in Costa the more I am able to love, delight in the nature, connect with others, surf, teach yoga and share reikiโ€ฆ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Everyday here I become a bit more grounded, rooted, expansive, in tune with the pace of nature and the vibrations of love and life.

Yesterday was epic, a day off of work, because I was moving, turned into a perfectly magical day of all things salty and sunkissed.

Point being yesterday, I mixed it up a bit, and universe unfolded a flawless day.

So I was supposed to move, and that would have been the โ€œresponsibleโ€ thing to do, however, Iโ€™m a believer of going with the flowโ€ฆ. Its not everyday you are invited on a fishing adventure, and the reality is that, all my things will still be waiting there to be moved at the end of the day, and opportunity to play in the ocean would have passedโ€ฆ

Morning starts beach side in Garza, 7 am, air is fresh sun in shining, pineapples and rum in hand, hangover lingeringโ€ฆ..

None the less, face is smiling, heart is full.

We cruise out on the boat and immediately start catching black fin tuna as bait fish.

๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŸCool=)

There is a certain peace, a silence, a stillness, despite movement all around, about being on a boat in the ocean. The horizon is infinite and the clarity that presents itself with the gentl lull of the waves and the kiss of the breeze, is actually quite hard to describe, possibly one of those things you can only feelโ€ฆ

We then head out a bit deeper and the fishes are abundance and generous with their lives. We get some Yellowfin, and Pargos. The energy of the day is mellow, and happy. Bellies at this point are starting to get hungry and the guys begin to filet the fish with impressive skill and perscison. We then eat sashimi.

Que Rico ๐Ÿ˜‹

When it comes to food and going to the source I donโ€™t believe it gets any better than this. I am humbled by the gifts of the ocean, of breath, of life. And really freaking stoked cause fresh yellowfin is well, like heaven.

A few more fish find their way onto hooks, and the guys grill it up and we grub on the best tuna sandwich I have ever had in my life. Time for nap # 2, I crawl onto the bow of the boat, and rest as the motor hums and the waves splash with the sweet sounds of a mermaids lullaby. The captain is headed out west as the guys are ready to โ€œgraduateโ€ from tuna in search of a sail fish.

Alas, after trolling for a while the sail fish remained elusive. I wake up from the sleep and climb up the tower on top of the boat and chill with the captain enjoying a birds eye view of the magical sea. We talk about life and families, we see flying fish, manta rays, all kinds of super sweet birds, and then after a few radio calls, we take off fastโ€ฆ.

On the horizon a large group of animals are breaching, splashing, swimming. At first I think its blue fin tuna, cause thatโ€™s how they move, so magical- glistening, circling, wild…

If you have not had the opportunity to see tuna (or dolphins) might I recommend doing soโ€ฆ any animal moving about un caged, in their element is a enlightening experienceโ€ฆ but upon a second look, and the captains re- assurance, these are not in fact tuna, but thousands of spinner dolphins. He tells me if I go down and lay on the bow they will be below me. Without hesitation, I go and do just that. Although I have had the opportunity to enjoy dolphins similar to this in San Diego, I have never seen the spinners, extra playful, extra amazing.

For the next 30 minutes or so I am enchanted, in awe, transfixed, speechless, aside from the pure whole hearted giggles, I am in a moment of all things love and pure.โ€ฆ What magical bliss. Uninterrupted joy. I love dolphins, and as they swam, danced, sang with the movement of the boat, I feel happy, amongst friends and in my element. My outstretched fingers just inches from their bodiesโ€ฆ my face being splashed with the release of every breath with saltwater from their blow holes. I swear a few of them even go as far as looking up to me, so say, hello miss mermaid, we see youโ€ฆ

And then, as quickly as they arrived. They are gone. But I am not sad. I am at a perfect peace. My face is smiling, my soul- calm. The sun continues to sparkle off the vast blue sea, so many shades of blue the mind feels drunk with its magnificent hughesโ€ฆ As the boat cuts through the ocean I am hypnotized by the foam splashing around the bow, the sun catches every droplet creating magical saltwater sparkles.

I believe in magic, I believe in love. Moments like this are reminders, that although there is much hate, and much suffering, there is also beauty.

It is living and breathing and up to us to recognize it and celebrate it. With an open mind, an open heart, the right attitude of humility, gratitude and abundance the ordinary truly becomes extraordinary.

From here the day continues on with easeโ€ฆ Three quad trips to and from, a glass of wine at the new pad in between trips, and I have relocated โ€œallโ€ my stuff. By โ€œallโ€ I mean, a surfboard, bikinis, clothes, a few books, a yoga mat and some shower produtsโ€ฆ =)

Now, since I chose not pack properly my belongings have explodedโ€ฆ haha and my room looks like a rainbow barfed (my new house mate commented on what vibrant colors the mound of things on my bed contained.) Quite the compliment if you ask me. Vibrant is good. Real goodโ€ฆ

img_7413
๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’•

But if a mound of stuff and a messy room is the worst part of my day I feel confident that it was a damn good day, there are things in life that really matter, and it seems that this cluster of unorganized things is not one of them.

I enjoy delightful company at the new digs snuggled beach side in the jungle, lights strewn across the yard, surfboards resting near by, the smell of sweet sensi floats throughout the air, love is being shared and all is wellโ€ฆ.

Everywhere on the planet, there are happy and sad things happening everyday. Hearts break, people fall in love. Nothing is perfect, but it is up to us to see these imperfections, the pain, the sorrow as part of the journey and as an opportunity, to love harder, deeper, to grow and expand. I am grateful. Oh so grateful for this day and this life and all that isโ€ฆ.

Lots of other cool shit going on in life, waterfalls, love, waves (epic waves.. maybe the best of my life in my short time surfing on a board), a new ukulele, karaoke to spice girls, ย days at the gelato shop, reiki, yoga, a magical merman descending from the stars and captivating my heartโ€ฆ but not finding time, or inspiration to write those moments have passed.

I was able to recently share a beautiful week teaching yoga with a few magic ladies on the Mad To Live Retreats. You can check out their stories about adventures in Costa Rica and their lives abroad on a the Mad To Live Retreat blog at http://www.madtoliveblog.com or on Carlyโ€™s at http://www.carlyrowena.com. These women are a spectacular inspiration and an example of people on this planet living and thriving. Truly explifiying what it is to be in love with life and Mad to Live.

Always more stories to comeโ€ฆ

Always more love to share…โค๏ธ

Your salty and sunkissed Mermaid,

Katie๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฆ„๐ŸŒž

Less is More ๐Ÿ’™

Less is more ๐Ÿ’™

Everyday I learn more about the value of simplicity, the lessons of humility, and the ย importance of love โค๏ธ

One of the very best things we can do in life is be honest with ourselves.

Sometimes our imperfections rear their ugly heads and our behavior is less than attractive.

Nobody is perfect, certainly not myself๐Ÿ™„

With that being said, the next best thing we can do in life is love ourself, and bathe ourself with compassion. We are these magical divine beings, but we are also human.

So we let go, move on,hold our head high and try to be better today than we were yesterday.
Life is good:)

Nothing in nature blooms all year and we are not any different, so on the bad days, be gentle, and smile, and maybe even cry, but remember as Kahlil Gibran says “you are far greater than you know and all Is well.”

So Last week I went on ย a sweet little solo surf mission in Nicaragua:) I did have a wonderful friend accompany me on the bus trip up to San Juan del sur and back to Nosara- but I traveled about ย Nica enjoying my own company. First stop was ย Maderas, a funky little beach town. And by town I mean , a hostel, a restaurant and a surf shop tucked into a cove- like beach that appears at the end of adirt road. It’s about 25 minutes out side of San Juan del Surf and is way isolated.

Beautiful but time for something different, soย After a night and morning in maderas surfing mini ย waves I decide to move on…

Next stop Popoyo ย ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’™

( in hindsight patting myself on the back for this one๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ) ย to arrive at magical perfect ย world class point break wave the day before a swell hits was good call. I was scared, but to surf a new wave on fun swell is a pretty exciting moment ๐Ÿ™‚

so I take a $3 taxi/buss/truck thing back to San Juan

find an ATM, cause quite the contrary to costa, and an important tip for travelers- cash is mostly accepted here and cards not so much- and then I find my way to the “2 hour” bus ride to popoyo. Hahahahaha. And by 2 hours they meant 3.5-

more lessons in patience. And in reality- what’s the hurry? Wherever I’m going will be there when I arrive- annoying non the less.

The bus made a stop in Rivas this wildly beautiful- closterphocic -cluster fucky- Latin American town. and I love- so vibrant and full of life. We are even lucky enough to witness a little skit about fire safety while parked In the bus terminal. And by fire safety I mean the people built a cardboard hut- set it on fire and then “rescued” a boy from it who was covered in blood- I was so relieved, because when I 1st say this boy covered in blood handling money outside a conspicuous cardboard hut -smoking a cigarette -I could swear chicken fighting or some kind of horrific bloodletting thing was happening Inside- but nope:) just a silly little skit… anywho- after Rivas the buss ride packed w the most humans i have ever seen on a bus resumes and I FINALLY arrive in popoyo-

and get dropped off In the middle of the dirt road. Haha, I’m told to walk 1km, thankfully ive met a friend on the bus who I can walk w/… Haha about a 30 minute walk, up a hill, down a path and across a beach to Guasacate (which we all think is popoyo) we find a hostel, some food, a surfboard and I get to surf. I am grateful for ย this slight detour because the view i was able to witness as a result was gorgeous

When I wake up in popoyo on Wednesday the swell has arrived ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŠ Popoyo is a prefect point break. The force and shape of the wave are magic and BIG. Haha i mean big is relative, but I got pounded a bit- with that being said- caught some rad waves and got a tiny confidence boost in the mean time.

On my way to the buss adventure to San Juan del Sur I met a nice local who took me on a little senic tour drive right to the buss so I didn’t have to walk anywhere:)๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

I arrive in San Juan, enjoy a Nicaraguan style meechalada and then meet a good friends mom who happens to have been living there for the past 9 years. San Juan gets a bad rap as a party city, which I could clearly see it was, but it is also a quait, beautiful colonial style town with both locals and ex-pats and a thriving local culture, which I’m so grateful i got to experience.

The journey back to costa went flawless and considering we were boarder crossing and using buss transit that is a big statement. Anywho- loved nica, but happy to back to Guiones, my friends, my job and the fun fat mushy wave that it is.

This past month or so leading up to my Nica adventure has been pretty low key and full of all kinds of smiles and happiness and waves.

I found my way to Ostional the beach north of here once to watch turtles next- which was pure magic, they come back the the same beach they hatched at during same same time period in the moon cycle and lay their eggs…And once to surf. Ostional is a great wave, powerful, punchy and a nice change of pace from the fun- yet mushy wave of quiones. I Have enjoyed some rainy afternoon loving, and some absurdly drunk chili guaro shenanigans. I have been working abunch and Feeling quite satisfied with the mellow pace of life. It’s amazing what you can learn by observing the patterns of nature.

The Seekretspot gelateria in Nosara, (one location in pelada, and one location in north Guiones) is by far the Best gelato in town and although I don’t normally eat meat, nor do I enjoy paying $14 for a hamburger- if the body has a craving I’d like to recommend Burgers and Beer for the meat and craff beer conesour.

A new spot in town I’ve been loving quite a bit is Olo Alaia…A rad craft beer selection and coffee bar set inside of a San Diego style surf shop. Such a good vibe.

I also webt on a fun paddle board tour with coconut adventures, moved into an amazingly beautiful condo, acquired ANOTHER job working at the best pizza spot in town Il Basilio, and I bought a quad!

Woot woot. Nothing solidifies the choice of selling your car, quitting your job and moving to the jungle, like purchase of a lovley little yellow quad. I named her girasolita ๐ŸŒป (sunflower) in Spanish.
I love Guiones the place I am currently calling home, but so beyond happy, to adventure about, occupy space with different energy and different people and be reminded of the importance of stepping outside your comfort and finding solace in ones own comapny. It’s so easy to get caught up in yourself and what’s “going on” and forget about the divinity of love and nature.

I truly hope that whatever it is that inspiring, what stirs your soul and brings you joy is something you actively embrace everyday. Life is too short not to love hard and do what makes you happy ๐Ÿ™‚

My wish for you today and everyday this this… it’s a Sanskrit saying that resonated with my being the first time i heard it and rings more true every day
“lokaha samastaha suhkino bhavantu”

“May all beings everywhere be happy, free, and at peace”

I want nothing more than this.

Lots of love and light.
Your salty and sunkissed mermaid
-Katie ๐Ÿ™‚

and some pics of the flawless nature here that fuels my happiness, makes me smile and fills me with joy

Love wins๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝโ˜ฎ๏ธ

Today as I’m walking back from the waves, down a muddy road, mud squishing and squeezing between every single toe, to my absolute delight of course- I find my self surrounded by nature and being serenaded by guitar stumming, harmonica playing, gently singing travelers staying at the hostel. And I realize a smile is spreading across my face. I feel happy, at peace, and full of joy.

I am reminded that despite the State of the nation, the state of the world- that amongst the hate, and the fear- that there are lovely people on this planet. People experiencing life as the the beautiful gift that it is. People living with hope and faith that humanity will figure it out. I am reminded that although there are many things we can not control that we do in fact have control of ourselves and we have a choice of what kind of energy we put out into the world.๐ŸŒŸโœจ๐ŸŒŽโœจ๐Ÿ’•

So, I put on some reggae music, take a shower and decide that it IS a beautiful day. I remember that love wins. I will continue to smile and spread love and kindness, raise the vibration of the environment around me, and spend my energy radiating positivity.

And then I hug as many people near me as I can.๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—

Life in the jungle is simple. The majority of beings here are less caught up in collecting the material possessions that many people in cities around the globe chase their whole life. Most people around here are more interested in a quality of life not quantity of things. And it’s refreshing.

Not much has happened the last week or two. Lots of surfing, bicycle riding (got myself a sweet little bike- Ali got one too-twinsieees ๐Ÿ‘ฏ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ‘ฏ๐Ÿšฒ), hammock laying and most importantly really fantastic, both light hearted and in depth, conversation. Speaking to people from all parts of the planet about all subjects of life is a really good way to gain perspective and stay humble.

Last Saturday I enjoyed delicious pizza from Il Basรญlico, a great place to go In Guiones on Saturday night, amazing music, super mellow vibes and 50% off pizza ๐Ÿ• super score. When traveling or living abroad eating at home and preparing all your meals is the cheapest and most realistic option for food, so dining out becomes quite the treat ๐Ÿ™‚

I also very much love the emphasis of Community around here. It’s nice to be surrounded by humans who enjoy and thrive off of the mentality “it takes a village”.

Tuesday night is open mic night at Beach Dog cafe, great live music always finds a way to uplift… but the highlight of my week comes from the way I spend my Sunday….

Planting trees, road tripping, exploring and surfing. My morning started off with a beautiful beach walk home from a friends- sun was shining bright at 7 am, summer has “officially” started (say bye bye to lazy afternoon of magical tropical thunderstorm madness…it’s all blue skies and sunshine from here…) I grub on a banana, my most favorite on-the-go pre surf snack , AND, you can get a whole bag of these tasty fellows for a buck- soooo cheap, especially when everything in this town is insanely expensive…๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ with all the banana consumption I might just turn into a monkey ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿ™‰๐Ÿ™ˆ but before that happens I head out to the sparkling blue sea for a surf. Waves are a bit small, but fun fun fun. As I get out of the water and back to the hostel my friends who run Costa Verdes, a reforestation project here in Guiones are out in the green house that is located here in the yard of the hostel. They are headed to plant a tree with a friend and his son and I get to tag along. Their project is incredible. And the obvious visible impact they have made on the beach habitat is mind blowing. They are humble hard working guys who are insanely passionate about tree’s and the environment and sustainable solutions to protect the earth:) anyways I grab a hat and some shades and hop in the truck to go spread some stoke via the trees.. ๐ŸŒŽโœจโค๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ look at this! 2001-2016

I have worked with these guys before but I had no idea how ย special, personal and profoundly touching planting a tree with this man and his son would be. All the trees planted get a name too, and the little boy decided to name his he tree of life…

The tree of life๐ŸŒฑโ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’™
This is where it all beings.
Beautiful moments where ideas manifest into change for the greater good.
We reap what we sow.
Wether it’s trees in the ground.
Or love in your soul.
Witnessing these 3 men teaching a small boy the importance of communion with Mother Nature was powerful.
๐Ÿ™‚

img_4377
Afterward the guys went for a surf and invited me to paddle out again.. I don’t have a board with me and and not wearing an appropriate surf bikini…but of course they have an extra board, so I say fuck it- my bottoms are surely going to be ripped off every duck dive, and for sure a boob sighting … (and not to disappoint they are ripped off-every.single.time, but i somehow managed to keep the ladies
Contained.) non the less, surfing with friends when you are 3 of the only people out is always a good time.
Post surf the guys then invite me on a mini afternoon adventure to visit a friend and super rad eco-lodge callled the Carao Project in Playa Camaronal- dripping wet and clotheless I agree… but who needs clothes? It’s the jungle ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘™๐ŸŒดโ˜€๏ธI’m just stoked to invited ๐Ÿค—

On the way out of Guiones we stop and drink the coconut water ย and inhale the meat of a few ice cold Pipa’s-Fresh coconuts, Fresh coconut water for only a dollar.. no need to buy it out of a box or can herre, this magical goodness comes straight from the source…
Then head down the road with tuto, Gera’s sweet little puppy cruising in the back of the truck …
Good music, good company, and tree spotting, oh what a happy time. We get to Samara, just about 10 minutes before Camaronal and we stop for snacks. The guys buy me one of these magical little ice cream goodies very similar to a 50\50 bar and it is the perfect treat for a hot afternoon between while sandwiched two dudes in a truck ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Then we pass Carrillo beach a beautiful bay perfect for families and picnics and finally we arrive at the property of rhe Carao Project, and ego lodge and restaurant that is nessled up against the edge of the camarรณnal refuge and designed with the most incredible tree platforms and tree house bungalรณs. They guy who designed and built this amazing place and his sister who run it are rad and the best hosts. We check out the property and the charge to the beach for a sunset surf. What a fun wave!! powerful, glassy, beautifully shaped beach break on a secluded beach (minus a few fisherman and a few Voulenteer’s guarding recently hatched turtles who charge to the water.) We are the only 4 people in the water and although a bit scared of the wave- it was quite a little magical surf moment of peace and fulfillment:) (despite still being in the same wet unfit for surfing bikini ๐Ÿ™„) Ugh, if you are a women who surfs you know the. Struggle….
We get out after dark, wanderback on an unlit jungle path and enjoy beers, conversation and an amazing home cooked dinnner poolside, jungle side under a moonlit sky. ๐ŸŒ™โœจ๐ŸŒŸ All still in this damn wet bikini… haha. Talk about being along for the ride. It doesn’t however take away from any of the happiness I am experiencing- it only ads to the adventure ๐Ÿ™‚

I can’t quite articule the very special energy of this country, but I’m beyond in love with this life and beyond grateful for the people and experiences I continue to encounter. I truly believe with an open heart and open mind, a go with the flow positive attitude, and a smile the possibilities are life infinite.

Looking forward to seeing the super moon in a few days. And looking forward to seeing the resilience and power of human beings as we continue to rise up and rise in love and make this planet a better place to be.

With all the love in my heart.

The Green Flashโœจ๐ŸŒ…

The Elusive Green Flashโœณ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒ…โœจ…

Isn’t it strange to think some people spend a large chunk, or perhaps even their whole life never being intimate?
And I’m not talking about sex, or physical contact. I’m talking deep connection, and abundant rivers of love with friends, lovers, Pachamama or oneself…

The things you can learn when you listen to the silence. When you spend time truly being with yourself: Your thoughts, your innermost desires, and the things that call to your soul. Life is too short to do anything other that what makes you happy…. The secret I suppose lies in actually finding what IT is that brings you joy!!๐Ÿค—
Travel and experiencing nature brings about these musings for me. New places, different people and observing the matrix of Mother Earth really opens the mind and expands the perimeters of existence. Oh and the rain…it’s takes me to places- something about the lullaby of the drops, the free falling of water from the sky really releases me to another realm….
Any who, enough about the wandering of my brains, let’s talk about the wanderings of Costa Rica

Where do I even begin?

I know I say this a lot, but not a day goes by where I don’t feel grateful for all I get to experience in this short life time.

When I was I Playa Negra I was fortunate enough to be invited to guest teach at the Peace Retreat Yoga Center and I can’t say thank you enough to the manager and teacher who extended such a kind gesture. The retreat center is jungle-yoga-heaven. The studio to practice in has beautiful ceiling to floor glass windows, all the props a yogi could want and all the faculties are tastefully designed with paintings of Ganesh, chakra rocks and just enough positive/motivational says to inspire, but not annoy. Wether your yoga practice spans a life time, or you are new to the game Peace retreat yoga center is a place to check out of you pass through Playa Negra:)

The day I taught I shared this message

img_4158

“…yoga doesn’t care about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life…yoga doesn’t care about who you’ve been, yoga care about the person you are becomming…”

It’s easy to get caught up in the very small physical part, the asana practice of yoga, and forget that the goal of yoga is not to have the best head stands. Believe it or not yoga teaches us so much more than how to have a bendy body. It teaches us to be compassionate, mindful, caring, aware, peaceful and present. How to drop out of our heads and into our hearts so we can experience the most joy and the least suffering as possible:)

Yoga (and surfing) but yoga first, Changed my life. Not flexible. Who cares? ๐Ÿ™‚ go try some yoga!! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜โค๏ธโ˜ฎ๏ธ with an open heart and mind the possibilities are limitless.

So from Playa Negra, i cruised up north to Playa Grande. Had a fun traffic jam and made some lovley creature friends on the way…Mooove over!! ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿšง๐Ÿ˜‚

In Playa Grande and enjoyed a magically relaxing rainy day at the Pipe House Playa Grande. You can find it on air B&B :)Felipe is rad, and a super welcoming, accommodating host. I always find time to hang for a day or so, surf, walk the beach, and enjoy mellow vibes and great company. If your costa adventures take you up this way, staying a night (or more) at the Pipehouse Playa Grande is a must.

From here I drove over to Liberia, more polka-dot pot hole rainy road adventures, to scoop up my most favorite mermaid soul sister!!! Woooooo

And the mermaid takeover resumes:)

img_4081

We head back to Guiones, get in a fun little sunset surf and spend a day or two there before we are on the road again.

We rent a car and head south. A plus about rental cars in the rainy season is that they are cheap. A negative. Ha- is the rainy season….and not that the rainy season is a bad thing, cause I’m obsessed w the aggressively calming storms, but the roads are a mess….

We head to Jaco. From a glance jaco is all things yucky. American/ expat/ foreign takeover at its finest. Or worst. Lots of non tico everything. Hookers and drugs…

Now, with that being said, we found such a fantastic Air B&B on the south side, the quite, jungly, local side of town staying with a tico named Maurico. You can find him at Jaco Surf Club Jungle house on Air B&B. He was an exceptional host. His house was clean, his sweet dog Lola a great yoga buddy,ย and anything we needed help with he was more than accommodating. And hot water?! Gold ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿšฟโœจ. Not that you need it, but it’s quite a treat. Good food options in town and fun waves too!!

Jaco grew on me quite a bit. Amazing beaches, a rad local shaper (maybe the best, certainly the coolest) at Carton surfboardsย and if you choose to stay out of town you can enjoy Jaco with out falling into tourists traps.

If you travel to Jaco and need help booking tours my lovely friends at Piko Travel can help you out:)

From Jaco we had 2 options, continue south towards to dominical, nauyaca waterfalls and pavones OOOORR,
charge back north and across to the tip of the Nicoya peninsula to montezuma, mal paรญs, and Santa Teresa-
Now the south end of this country in Osa may very well be one my most favorite and arguably one of the most magical, beautiful, bio -diverse places on the planet…But

In the spirit of seeing new places and new waves we decide to go with option B …and we get a ferry ride ๐Ÿ˜โ›ด๐Ÿ— Can’t say I’ve ever driven a car into a ferry before!! Pretty cool stuff if you ask me๐Ÿค“

Yes the path to Santa Teresa involves driving from Jaco, to puntarenas, onto a ferry to Paquera, then about an hour drive through windy roads and jungle trees
To the lovley little towns of Mal Paรญs, Playa Carmen, and Santa Teresa.

I mean you could drive all the way around… but why would you??

Ferry rides are fun! ๐Ÿ™ƒ

However- after a long day of travel we arrive with the sun going down…and I have to pee. And we don’t have a place to stay.

But we find a place on the main road that works for the night crash out and are excited for waves in the morning.

The beaches here a beautiful. No surprise there. And the waves- way fun. Once again no surprise there either—-not too much size, but nice peaky clean shape๐Ÿ˜

So something to mention about Santa Teresa is that the town doesn’t really have a “center”, you enter on the south end and drive north… one main road that goes from mal pais, all the way through the Santa Teresa and north… so when looking for lodging keep in mind lots of the places are tucked up little roads or, keep the front gates closed, not because they are closed but because the dust from main road gets everywhere.

So right before we abandon all hope of finding suitable lodging waking distance from the main wave we discover Don Jons. It’s a sweet little surf hostel located in what could be considered the “center” of town and make it our home for the next few days!

Aside from being centrally located and right across from the waves we are also neighbors with the most delicious eatery called zwArt cafe:)

The food- health conscious friendly, ranging from typical casados, to spirilina-mint-coconut-cocoa smoothies and amazing vegan surfer bowls varieties- my personal favorite containing quinoa, mustard greens, tahini, pickled beets and carrots, avocado and a yummy green spicy sauce on the side ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿด๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

We also discover a magical French bakery in Playa Carmen called “The bakery” and devoured this tasty little treat with a cup of fresh hot coffee… a bit pricey, but oh man, when those chocolate cravings come, this place satisfies ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿซโ˜•๏ธ

Although I know there are amazing waterfalls and hiking around here, which was actually part of the initial draw to visit, we opted for a more mellow trip of endless surf sessions and hammock lounging.

Last night was our last night here and the sunset was spectacular.

And.

I saw the elusive green flash!!! ๐ŸŒ…โœณ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜โœณ๏ธ๐ŸŒ…โค๏ธ
Now growing up on the west coast of a country that kisses the Pacific Ocean I have found myself self sitting, waiting, wishing, enjoying more sunsets than I can count- but never have I had the blessing witnessing that elusive green flash…

So yesterday, as we casually wandered to waters edge the sun had already began its decent and, literally as I make it to the sand, the sun already dipped half way below the horizon- and then BOOM. The flash happened- and pure magic- like watching a magician do a trick. The elusive green flash sparked the sky!!!
Im still at this moment dumbstruck.
I was almost starting to believe that it was something people just made up.
But Mother Earth, nature, never fails to impress and of course when I least expected it, once again. Blew my mindโœจโœณ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒ…

With so many more delightful things to come, I send out peace and love as you move through your day in what can sometimes become a crazy hectic life. If your afternoon is free, maybe head to the beach and find a few moments of gratitude and solitude, to commune, and connect and smile at the his wild life you get to be a part of๐ŸŒˆโค๏ธ

Wandering with love-
All love all the time:)

The Blind ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฝ Surfer

It has been a week of epic proportions.

Actually, it’s only been 5 days since I landed in the land of Pura Vida but so much radness has already happened…(And my heart feels so full and happy)

I know I titled this The blind surfer… yep, you read right- The blind surfer.

I was fortunate enough to experience something pretty profound that will stay with me for a long time…

but I’ll get to that later… saving the best for last today—

So 2 days ago we woke up to a full moon. Yes. Woke up. To the full moon๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ’ซ(dawn patrol.. wooot woot)

There is something particularly magical about walking barefoot-down a dirt road-to a jungle path- surfboard in hand- to the waves- to be the first and only people out in the water, all while the magnificent moon, who pulls the tides, and makes the waves, shines down on your with her radiant illuminating glow…
As she was setting in the west the suns warm vibrant fire was slowly beginning to creep into the opposite side of the sky.

Uh huh ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
and this all happened before 5 am ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒˆโ˜€๏ธ

So we caught some waves, were out of the water by 7am, and enjoyed some particularly special and extra delicious coffee made by Don Henry Gutierrez.

While sipping coffee we engaged in meaningful conversation, listened to music, and hung out on the front porch of the cabina,ย surroundedย by all things green and lush and peaceful. Sharing moments like these are priceless and something I wouldn’t trade for all the riches in the world.

img_3939

Let me nowย tell you about the man who
Makes this delicious coffee. He lives in the hillside of Terrazu, Costa Rica. He is making a grass roots movement to take back the hills from American and multi-national corporations. These corporations have ripped up all the native coffee plants, planted foreign species, and as a result have completely killed the soil and land that for SO many years has produced rich, delicious coffee…
This amazing man, via Corazรณn de los Pargos, is teaming up with Surfrider foundation to sell ” Surfrider coffee” -coffee for clean oceans- for profit that will be used in the efforts to keep the oceans clean and better protect the earth that so graciously houses us. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŒŽKeep an eye out for this coffee-โ˜•๏ธโ˜•๏ธโ˜•๏ธ

As for the music we listened to. A bit deep and profound to describe with my simple words. This musician, a Somali refugee sing/raps powerful messages and funky melodic beats- telling stories ย about struggle and pain, love and life, but ultimately, about staying positive and rising above. This musical, lyrical genius is K’naan. Look him up ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽง๐ŸŽผ:)

Ha. And that was all before 8am. Some
pretty rad energy vibrations happening…

But let’s rewind a little bit.
I landed in San Jose, Costa Rica ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ท Wednesday am. Rented and car and drove 5 hours in the pouring rain- like can hardly see 20 feet infront of the car, Dont think it’s rained that much in San Diego the whole year rain-down a mountain side and across muddy pothole infected dirt roads to the Guanacaste province in the North Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

And so the adventure began.

But when you feel like you are “going home” it’s all worth it:) Not to mention all the roads and country side are lush, green, jungle love โค๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’• so the scenery certainly doesn’t hurt..It’s nothing like driving 5 hours in traffic amongst concrete buildings, concrete roads, and metal vehicles everywhere.

Guiones the town I will living in is pretty magical. I arrive at the Nosara beach hostel. The hostel is owned and managed by Ticos, it’s only 100 yards from the beach, and ย rooms go for an amazing affordable price. It’s a traveling surfers gem. I am immediately met by familiar welcoming faces, the awesome guys who run Agua Tibia surf school. (The surf school is currently connected to the hostel and if you ever visit nosara/guiones they are ๐Ÿ’ฏ% my recommendation for board rentals and lessons- a really solid group of human beings ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฝ)
At this point in the day I’m feeling exhausted, but stoked to be here ๐Ÿ™‚

The hostel this time of year is super mellow. Only me and one other guy:)
Sweet!!…Easing into a slower pace of this fantastically simple, delightful life

I Enjoy dinner and more amazing conversation, with Sergio, my friend who works nights at the hostel, and crash out early, eager for waves.

Yay!!
Soooo, super fun waves on Thursday ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒˆ and warm water!?!

Holy heaven. I proceed to spend the rest of the day napping, reading, hammocking, and enjoying life as it unfolds. It’s pretty powerful to be present in the moment. Zero anticipation, about where I’m going to go, or what I’m going to do, just throughly blissful about existing right here, right now….
and I’m not alone in this joy- I find a huge part of what draws me to Costa Rica and Guiones (or the beach towns here in general) is this mentality ๐Ÿ™‚
Pura vida โ˜ฎ๏ธ Si. Life as it, with out adornment, is more than enough, in fact, it is complete…

Thursday night I found myself in a Tuk-Tuk, a normal occurrence in guiones, except my driver happens to be my friend and she has never actually driven one of these strange little vehicles before. The hysterics ensue, stalling out, stuck in first gear, catching air off potholes in the dark, haha- all while trying to hold on to beers, her cigarettes and her dog who chased us down the street as we left for the store.
Needless to say I was laughing so hard i cried…

Then Saturday arrives and I’m on the open road again… and that means this Cali girl gets to drive through 3 rivers and 1.5 hours on the most lovely, enchanted jungle dirt road up to playa negra…. daaaamn. No Rivers on the roads of north San Diego county that’s for sure. That means this adventure is equally scary and exciting. But i survived-Accompanied by some zeppelin, Tom petty, Trevor hall, pepper, katastro, passiflora, and many other rad road tripping jams!! A necessity for any road trip… I might say tho, blasting “over the hills and far away”, as a mob down a dirt road solo, and free, is a most exhilarating feeling. I highly suggest trying it at some point in your life if you have yet to do so.

So I make it to playa negra, more specifically, the soon to be community center/ bakery/cafe/coffee shop of Corazรณn de los Pargos, and I’mย Stoked…
Such a rad project in the works, the guys here, who I’m beyond grateful and lucky to call my friends are incredible human beings. Their passion to work hard, to live a dream of creating a space where people gather, learn, eat, drink, create and commune in positive environment is humbling, inspiring and contagious.

And just wait.
The humbling inspiration continues…as the guys work, with focused effort of intentions to open Corazรณn de los pargos by November….

I get to surf ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒŠโค๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝyeeewww

Playa negra is a pretty sweet wave. Being accustomed to paddling out in beach breaks like Oceanside Ca, and even more punishing Guiones, it was a delightful treat to paddle out and not even get my hair wet?!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ณ a girl could get spoiled surfing here…. anywho, here comes the good part

A blind man who surfs. While in the water, two friendly guys paddle up to me, and one man begins to explain that his friend in the red shirt is BLIND!! He wants to let all the people in the water know so when his friend is charging down the waves, be sure to get out of his way. It’s not like this guy is splashing around in knee high white wash- he is sitting in the line up, paddling into peaks, above a rocky reef, point break wave….
My mind is blown.
The interaction, between these two men, and the blind man and ocean, leave me speechless. Humbled. But, mostly inspired. The man lost sight midlife, but clearly refuses to live a life less satisfying. It’s beautiful, the communication between the man and his friends. Their words guide him into waves (decent size waves i may add) and his determination and dedication simply just to feel the waves, a spirit so full of a hunger for life, his refusal to quit, Is one of the most incredible things I have been fortunate enough to experience in my small time on this planet.

So ,next time you think you can’t.
Next time life feels overwhelming.
Next time you are rut and feeling low, discouraged, frustrated…

Remember this blind man who surfs…
And remind yourself you can:)
You are able:)
And that- sight, legs, food, all we have, are gifts. Allow a gratitude to manifest around all the blessing present in your life โœจ

And as they like to say here in Costa Rica-
Gracias a Dios
Thank you god
(whoever God may be to you)
For this day and this breath and the love we get to experience.

Have a happy day sweet friends
Live with love, because love winsโค๏ธ
And so does life in a bikini ๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ˜˜

Your salty and sunkissed gypsy mermaid
-Katie โ˜ฎ๏ธ

Wander with love๐Ÿ’•

As I begin again On the gypsy trail, Moving about in time and space, I find myself filled with gratitude and humility

Typically travel evokes feelings of anxiety, or excitement, wonder on inspiration…
but this time it’s different
Not to say any of the above feeling are not present, they are just gently burning in the back ground, like a fireplace on a cool winter night- beautiful ablaze and warm, but by no means dominant….

TonightI feel calm, relaxed and peaceful completely satisfied buy life’s offerings.
A warm breeze kissing my soul as the sun Shines and the waves barrel…that kind of contentment

And I am Humbled

San Diego is a beautiful city and Oceanside an even more amazing little town. Filled with good vibes, and fantastically kind locals rooted in values of community, simplicity, loving hard, playing hard and celebrating the diversity of life we all bring to the table…

The tribe of humans that I am lucky enough to call my friends are off the charts….

Chefs, teachers, firefighters, herbalists, scientists, professors, mothers, servers, real estate agents, lovers, givers, healers with the best of intentions and the biggest of hearts. But these people who are my friends, are also my teachers. I am better because of them, my consciousness continually elevated by their desires to learn and grow and raise eachother up is so humbling. And I cried today because I will miss them. As I set out on the gypsy trail I find the gratitude in my heart even stronger because I am better because I know these magnificent beings.

So That’s the cool thing about travel. Although Oside and these people will soon be far far away. Their love is not…
If you let your life be expansive the circles you run in will only continue to expand. (And if you find yourself in Oceanside San Diego. Give wrench and rodent a try:) for sushi satisfaction. Or perhaps good old fashionable comfort food w a twist is your style, Local Tap House has some of the ย best flavor (and beer ๐Ÿป around)… or if you wan to Keep it simple, cruise over cyclops organic farm, run by locals and cook up a delicious feast yourself ๐Ÿ™‚

So will I miss San Diego, with its delightful people, incredible nature (and for a big city it’s still got some nature– yes it’s got it all, desertes, mountains, beaches galore…) and the most divine October sky and sunsets that take my breath awaY

Well yes.

img_3708

what I will miss most is the feelings —the cocoon like love I am so very grateful and blessed to be surround by

I have however learned that all these feeling of love and gratitude and humility are inside me. Always. And wherever I go I can take them with me!!:) I don’t even need to pack them and put em in a bag… they don’t take up space (and are free)..which means more room and money for bikinis!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ and if you know me at all … well you know what I mean.๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ‘™

So as you go about on your own journeys wether is around the globe or down the street to the store , remember to take little pieces of all that you do with you.
Keep learning and growing from the biggest adventures to the smallest lthings…

And stay humble.

Because when your heart is tender and your mind is open the vastness of life will continue to inspire you-

By living with passion ย you are capable of things far greater than you know.

Continuing along the gypsy trail.. with love in my heart and smile on my face-

see you soon Oside, see you sooner Costa Rica ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿฆ„… waves and jungles and monkeys oh my!!!๐Ÿ˜ ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Sending out love ๐Ÿš๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ’•
Your salty and sun kissed mermaid

mi corazon es llena mi alma es feliz. nada mas de buenas vibrasโค๏ธ๐ŸŒ•๐Ÿ•‰

Pure gold is not anymore a metal of the earth than the ore of our souls. A sweet sticky honey. Oozing, rich and delicious ๐Ÿ™‚ Tap into natural abundance and feel this richness penetrate every pore of your existence โ˜€๏ธ

We are vessels of love.
We are vibrant, radiant beings pulsingย with life.
We are the matrix connected and whole… ๐Ÿ’ซ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒ€โ™ป๏ธ๐ŸŒ

Feeling so inspired and so grateful and so completely in love with this beautiful blessed life. Too many good vibes not to share!!!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š

We came from this earth, and one day we will all return, but in the meantime we should continue to celebrate this shared existence living and loving to the max…

It really seems that if we give whole heartedly and unselfishly everything we gives comes back to us and more. We cannot create or eliminate energy, so yes it’s a bit magic, but it’s also science too!! The vibrations you put out in the universe do come back to you. So do Yourself a favor and share smiles and love authentically and with as many humans as possible. Love is powerful ๐Ÿ™‚ Although I’m not religious the bible says “you reap what you sow” and I believe this to be true with all of my existence . There ย has been abundant goodnes ย in my life recently. When we plant the seeds of love and compassion our gardens grow the most luscious juicy fruits. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ

I’ve been working like a loco since I’ve been back from Costa and these last few days I’ve had off were pretty rad.. days that with out any expectation surpassed anything I could have dreamed. I was able to slow down, be close to nature and reminded of what a beautiful tribe of human beings I get to share my life and energy with… And it feels importAnt to share these experience with you.
As humanity our need to give and reciece love is the single most thing that connects us- its so necessary to cultivate environment that allow us to fall out of our heads and into our hearts, thinking less feeling more. Being sensitive and compassionate and vulnerable are most beautiful qualities
โค๏ธ๐ŸŒŸโค๏ธ๐ŸŒŸโค๏ธ๐ŸŒŸโค๏ธ๐ŸŒŸโค๏ธ๐ŸŒŸโค๏ธ๐ŸŒŸ creating space to in our hearts to love and celebrate what a magical gift life is… How very special ย this moment being right here right now is ๐Ÿ™‚ sometimes we work too much but we should try to find a way to enjoy every blessed second. When the actions we do have positive intentions that intention carries on long after the action has passed…

Finding myself in a place of gratitude, love and humility I write to remind you to do the same. Never was a moment wasted spend loving ๐Ÿ’•

As one of my favorite saying goes “wherever you are, whatever you do, be in love”
-Rumi

All love. All the time. From Baja, to the house of blues, to mornings with chickens and encounters around town may we continue to rise in love. From my soul to yours. Have an amazing day๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒŸโœจ๐ŸŒป
