Biggest smile on my face π
What have I been getting into for the last few days? Well. A really good time!!’ .. Duh π
And- Some big ole bugs, rodeos, environmental festivals, garden slave labor (but fun of course), learning about coffee production, nature and the most important thing- making friends and sharing love: so here it goes.
Riding on the “chicken bus”πππππ up The accent into the unknown….
So-super-rad. Spent 5 hrs getting here (South central Costa Rica, biolley, to be exact) on a “nice” bus on paved roads and now charging 18 miles (but a 1.5 hr ride) up a dirt road. And even tho it is dark outside I can feel nature all around In every direction – every Now and then coming up on a Home, or “‘mini super” little markets selling necessities – these little
Markets (pulperia) are connected to the owners home, with the ticos all
Around just spending time together.ππ¬π«
Can’t even begin to explain the simple humbling magic that is happening inside as a result of the pure rawness of everything Outside. ππ²π³πππππ πSuch a simple, perfect day of moving through time and space. No hurry to get to where we are going.
An AMAZING opportunity. Presented its self today too. Can’t wait to tell you about it. Google drake bay πππ¬π³βοΈπ ππ΄π±π΄
Upon waking up the next day to the sun rise and bird songs, I feel nothing but gratitude and humility- this is where I get to practice my morning yogaπππ½π πππ½ “there is something very tender about this gratitude: through it we recognize that life itself, with out adornment or elaboration, is a gift” Donna Farhi π³β€οΈπ± ( hot showers? nope! Happiness, YES!!)

Sometimes when I look around I feel like the kids in the grass in the movie “honey I shrunk the kids” (minus the lawmower of course!) but the nature is seriously that amazingly intense.. And
If you don’t like nature, I question if you like yourself? We are nature. There isn’t anything going on in the tress or flowers or earth that isn’t happening inside of our bodies. We are continually in a process of growth and death and growth. … It’s a natural ryTHEM AN ebb and flow…
By tuning into this awareness one is able to live more fully experiencing every moment as it is happening. This mindfulness creates an awe of what a miracle it is to be alive π
In this most marvelous community I am the only gringa In a 20 mile radius. Went to a rodeo today. And yep. Only white girl there ππ½ with that being said Spanish is spoken here. Which is amazing. I don’t understand too much of what is being said. None the less I find myself a part of long conversations with nothing but a smile on my face π energy is so real. So powerful and so beautiful. This Sweet girl (daughter if one of The ASOMOBI leaders) bought me this yummy treat to try while we’re hanging at the rodeo

Also earlier in the day while helping we the set up for the environmental fair tomorrow the park ranger shared this most delicious new fruit w me ππππ

I waS told don’t eat too many or you’re in trouble π©π©π©
Perhaps it’s time for a bit of detail about what brings me to this magical place?! Long story short my friend has been working with an incredible group of self empowered women to make their coffee and community more accessible and available to Voulenteer and visitors alike.
Check out this link. βοΈπ³βοΈπ³βοΈπ³βοΈπ³ http://www.asomobi-costarica.com or to see a trailer of the documentary recently made about them go to http://www.asmallsectionoftheworld.com
Truly humbled by the dedication and hard work of these inspiring women. So I’m spending my time here with this women of the ASOMOBI organization and with a group of Voulenteers (that are visiting for the weekend) who work in the tourism industry in Costa Rica for a company called travel excellence. Www.Travelexcellence.com (if looking for a real tico experience and not just another typical vacay)

Another amazing thing I’ve noticed…nobody here hurries, but everything gets done. I once read a quote along those lines “adopt the pace of nature, she never hurries and still get everything done.”
After being here for only a few days, it has become apparent to the undeniable truth that many people on this planet are simply moving too fast. to where? For what?? Slow down People. Where ever you are going will be there when you get there. Take some time to breathe, we only have so much time in these bodies, why not try to enjoy every moment to the maximum.β³βοΈβ³βοΈβ³βοΈβ³βοΈβοΈβ³βοΈβ³βοΈβ³βοΈβ³βοΈ

Headlamps btw, are amazing. π¦π¦A bit uncool, but quite necessary for mountain, jungle, travel adventures… My only complain. They are a magnet for bugs flying at your face π³πππππππ Haha. I suppose it all adds to the experience… Bonus points if you eat one?!πππ±π©

Spent the last day In the mountains enjoying the company of a beautiful kind loving woman named Laura. Worked in her yard a bit helping with the garden, painted a used tire that they recycle and use as a planter and… I baked bread!!! So amazing to share an afternoon In the kitchen with such a divine magical soul. Then we enjoyed, what may possible be the best bread I’ve ever had in my life, with a cup of coffee and the rain kissing the tin roof making for a fabulously perfect relaxing afternoon. Pura vida.

Me!
The bread!πβ€οΈππ quite possibly the best bread I’ve ever had, fluffy, sweet, perfectly baked. Β‘Que Rico!
Later in the night Malo and I traveled the pitch black night and a slobbering rain storm to be hosted to a garden to table dinner by another amazing family and one of the women of ASOMOBI.
Have to include this somewhere. Saw chicken Sex! ππ½ππππ€π£ everything I dreamed it would be. Haha. #farmlife
We woke up at 3:45. again tackled the 40 minute walk, still in the dark, but this time minus the rain, plus the luggage…. You thought the sunset was fabulous. How about the sunrise?
3 hrs 3 busses later. I reach palmar Norte. The transit spot to get to Sierpe… From palmar Norte I’m supposed to take a buss to Sierpe.
The a boat (cause you can only get where I’m going from a boat- down the river, into the ocean, and into drake bay)….
The world continues to shrink and slow, while In Palmar Norte I meet the neighbor of Karina the girl I’m going to visit in Drake…
And as I sit here typing and editing… Drinking a beer with a handful of new friends (at 11am) ππ» and I can not wait to share more!! β€οΈππππ±π΄π… Mermaid girl is ecstatic to be back near the sea. The soul is alive all is well. solo adventuress begin.

Salty and sunkissed and in love with life βοΈπ΄π
Pura vida.
Xoxoxo
